Situated on the historic 12th century Market Place our building dates back to the17th century. The Market Place is now a car park (so parking’s not a problem) on which there is a market twice a week.
We offer excellent, value for money, food. We don’t sell kebabs or pizzas, we leave that to the experts. What we do offer is traditional British fish and chips and we do that very well.
We take great pride in the fact that our shop is spotlessly clean, something that is very often commented upon. We have a close relationship with the local environmental health team, so much so that we consider them almost “partners” in our business. We often turn to them for advice and assistance and they never fail us.
We have the best staff! Selling excellent food and having a clean shop is all well and good but you have to have the staff to make it all work. Our staff work extremely hard to make sure the food is first class, the shop is clean and, most importantly, your visit to our shop is an experience you will want to repeat time after time.
We welcome dogs into our shop on the understanding that all dogs get a fuss and those who eat in the cafe are offered a free sausage!

Our café offers a value for money fish and chip menu and a children’s menu. There aren’t many places you can enjoy a plate of fish, chips, peas and a cup of tea or coffee for £8.00. The children’s meals have been designed to satisfy a child’s appetite at a very reasonable price.
The cellar café seats 30 and we regularly use it for functions, birthday parties, anniversary parties and office parties. Although we are not licensed, you are more than welcome to bring your own wine, beer etc and, unlike many other establishments, we make no charge for this.
We think we’ve got it right and our customers think so to. Apart from our loyal, regular customer base in Leek we now have regulars who travel from Cheadle, Ashbourne, Macclesfield, Cheddleton, Stockport, Stoke, Buxton, New Mills, Doveholes, Biddulph and Congleton. Not only that, we have regular visitors from all over the UK when they visit Leek on holiday.
It’s no longer unusual to hear our customers say “that’s the best fish and chips we’ve ever had” or “I haven’t tasted fish and chips that good for years” which is testament to the fact that we’ve got it right!
